Sport

Excellent sporting facilities

We have direct, secure access from the playground into a magnificent 35-acre Walsall Arboretum which we use for outdoor learning, cross country, sports days, picnics and more.

Our 500m2 multi-use sports pitch enables during and after school sports training as well as fixtures with other local schools.

Supporting grassroots sport

We are proud to be sponsors of Walsall Cricket Club, and we are passionate about grassroots sport in Walsall.

This partnership opens up opportunities for pupils with the Club and allows us to use their site for PE lessons and school matches.

Leaders encourage pupils to be physically active, in both physical education classes and in additional activities.

World class sporting facilities to inspire

PE and games are taught across all year groups and GCSE PE is offered as an option subject. All lessons are taught either on site or at our multi-use sports pitch or at the University of Wolverhampton’s world class sporting facilities which is a two-minute bus ride away.

This facility has a multi-million pound Sports Centre, 12-court sports hall, sprint track, 20m x 10m swimming pool, tennis courts, and extensive sports fields. All of which introduce pupils to the world of sport in an exciting and inspiring way.

Gold School Games Mark

We are delighted to announce we have achieved the Gold School Games Mark award for our commitment, engagement and delivery of competitive school sport for the 2023/24 academic year.

The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community.

Diverse extracurricular opportunities and competitive sports

We have an extensive extra-curricular programme with an activity happening every day after school. We provide a broad number of activities that are delivered to those pupils who want to participate for fun and those who want to extend into more competitive sport.

We have many school teams which compete at local and national level. We have trips to sporting events to allow pupils to see sport in a different arena to that which they are used to.
