Achieve academic success with excellent GCSE results consistently placing us in the top three in league tables. Hydesville Tower Senior School is ranked 9th in the UK and holds the prestigious position of the best in the West Midlands according to the Daily Telegraph’s GCSE league tables for small independent schools.

Holistic Approach

Emotional wellbeing is just as important as academic achievement and we want our pupils to be confident, compassionate and capable young people. We believe it’s crucial to develop a child’s character through teaching transferable skills that will help them to thrive in the future.

Solid Values

We have a strong family ethos, and instil a sense of great pride in our school community. We look after, support and encourage each other to always be our best.

My child is taken care of, my opinion and input matters to them, and I think school provides a good bridge between home and school.

Meet our Headteacher

Welcome to Hydesville Tower School; it is my privilege to be the Headteacher of such an exciting place of learning. As parents and carers, we all want the very best for our children. It is crucial that they are encouraged to fulfil their academic potential; but of equal importance is their preparation for the everchanging world beyond education, a world presenting both challenges and opportunities.

Here at Hydesville Tower School, we are a happy community in which everyone can do and be their best. We pride ourselves on providing a breath-taking array of opportunities, not only within our traditional academic curriculum but also throughout our extensive extra-curricular and enrichment programmes.

✨ What a magical moment for our pupils! ✨

Ayva and Tara from Hydesville had an unforgettable experience meeting the incredible Julia Donaldson in person!

They were completely captivated as she brought her beloved stories to life on stage — including favourites like The Gruffalo, Room on the Broom and Superworm. Seeing her perform and read her own stories made the experience even more special.

The highlight? After the show, Ayva and Tara got to meet her! 💫 She took the time to chat with them and even signed their books — a moment they’ll never forget.

We’re so proud to see our pupils inspired by such a legendary storyteller… and now we’re all eagerly waiting for her new release, Gruffalo Granny!

We’re delighted that Annaya (Year 11) has been selected as a Lichfield Young Critic for this year’s Lichfield Literary Festival! 📚
She’s already enjoyed her first book talk, confidently asking questions and engaging with ideas that support her GCSE studies.
Well done, Annaya! 👏
Eid Mubarak from all of us at Hydesville Tower School!

Despite our central location, we've maximised outdoor space with direct access to the nearby Walsall Arboretum.

Ongoing investments ensure top-notch facilities, including a recent transformation of our school hall into a fully functioning theatre. With wireless coverage throughout, technology is seamlessly integrated into every aspect of learning.

Hydesville integrates individual academic attainment with a caring nurturing environment. They have good academic outcomes and very friendly, approachable staff.
