Meet our Headteacher
Welcome to Hydesville Tower School; it is my privilege to be the Headteacher of such an exciting place of learning. As parents and carers, we all want the very best for our children. It is crucial that they are encouraged to fulfil their academic potential; but of equal importance is their preparation for the everchanging world beyond education, a world presenting both challenges and opportunities.
Here at Hydesville Tower School, we are a happy community in which everyone can do and be their best. We pride ourselves on providing a breath-taking array of opportunities, not only within our traditional academic curriculum but also throughout our extensive extra-curricular and enrichment programmes.

Here at Hydesville, we love seeing our pupils embrace their creativity through joyful, child-initiated play!
Outdoors, they explored colour and expression using spray bottles filled with paint, turning large sheets of paper into vibrant masterpieces.
Child-led play empowers our pupils to follow their interests, make choices, and express themselves freely, whether they’re building towers, diving into role-play, or experimenting with sand and water. Through play, they’re not only learning but growing in confidence, creativity, and independence every step of the way.
We have limited full and part-time places left in our Nursery for 2–4-year-olds from this September. Please contact our friendly admissions team to find out more: 01922 624374

Year 6 recently embarked on an exciting trip to the National SEA LIFE Centre Birmingham as part of the Hydesville Challenge. Travelling by train gave pupils a wonderful chance to practise independence, responsibility, and navigation skills.
At the centre, they were captivated by an incredible variety of marine life, from graceful rays and shimmering jellyfish to curious sea turtles and majestic sharks. The playful sea otters and charming Gentoo penguins were definite highlights, bringing smiles all around. The 360° Ocean Tunnel offered an immersive glimpse into life beneath the waves
This hands-on visit perfectly complemented classroom learning, deepening understanding of habitats, food chains, adaptation, and conservation, bringing science and geography to life in a memorable way

At Hydesville, we provide dedicated Art Enrichment that gives pupils the opportunity to explore new techniques, materials, and forms of creative expression beyond the standard curriculum.
Our Year 3 pupils recently embraced the world of textile art by designing and creating their own vibrant tie-dye t-shirts. This hands-on project encouraged individuality, self-expression, and artistic confidence, with each unique design a joyful celebration of their creativity!

Over the past two weeks, our pupils have been developing their spatial awareness and map-reading skills through a series of creative, hands-on activities.
From designing treasure maps to illustrating layouts of the Fairy Garden, farmyard scenes, and the Arboretum, they`ve explored the art and purpose of mapmaking in engaging and meaningful ways. Along the journey, they’ve also been introduced to real-world maps and directional language — building not only geographical knowledge but also curiosity, observation, and a strong sense of place
